MySpace Updates

Every once and a while I troll the MySpace pages of my favorite artists to see if they've posted any exclusive content. Here are three gems I just came across.

From their 2007 release, Sky Blue Sky, here's Wilco performing the bonus track called "The Thanks I Get".

Matt Nathanson's 2007 record, Some Mad Hope, is getting lots of spins on my CD player. This is an acoustic version of one of the tracks called "Still".

The Like are working on a follow up to their debut album, Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking?", and played this new song on the radio out in California.

The Like 09-13-2005 KCRW

I took the train to New York last night to catch The Like perform at the Mercury Lounge. I really enjoyed their 2005 debut Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking? and wanted to see them live. The trio of young ladies put on a good show. I wasn't blown away by their live prowess, but I did think drumer Tennessee Thomas rocked the kit pretty hard. Singer Z Berg has a very deep, mature voice for such a young woman, and she sang beautifully live. Bassist Charlotte Froom's harmony vocals were a nice touch too. The show was a lot of fun and it reminded me of why I'll be keeping my eye on their career. Here's their live set from KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic on 09-13-2005.

Three Random Songs

I love to troll through XFM's website and listen to their archived live performances. This is Ryan Adams performing "One By One", a song for which a studio version was later released as a b-side on the 7" version of his "Wonderwall" single.

I always find a ton of great stuff on Elbo. Just found this awesome version of "Running To Stand Still" performed by U2 in 1993 in Dublin at Mars Needs Guitars.
