Monday Morning Live: Gomez

Your weekly dose of high quality live recordings (no audience boots here!).

It just feels like a Gomez kinda day today. Must be the craptastic summer heat that has descended on the Philly area. My kingdom for Seattle's summer weather here on this coast... Anyway, this is a rollicking live version of Gomez's "Ping One Down", the studio version of which is on the sweet, sweet LP In Our Gun.

B-Side Of The Week: Gomez

A friend just pointed out that I've tragically neglected to post anything from Gomez, a band with a bevy of outstanding b-sides, in this weekly feature. Until now, that is.

This track is an alternate version of the first single from their In Our Gun record. It starts out slow and trippy and then goes off the charts into noise rock land. Methinks the boys in Gomez may partake of the good bud from time to time...

Cover Of The Week: Gomez does The Beatles

According to the number of downloads they're getting, folks seem to love these Beatles covers. My friends would enjoy the irony since I don't ever listen to The Beatles. They've always been one of those bands that I appreciate but don't really like. I much prefer to hear other bands I like cover their songs. So here we go with another Beatles cover, this one brought to you by Gomez. They contributed to the recent covers album, Endless Highway - The Music Of The Band, which I've definitely got to pick up.
Gomez - "Getting Better"

WBOS Live Sessions

I stumbled across these live performances on the WBOS website. There are a bunch more sessions from lots of different artists at the site. These are just a couple of my favorites.
